ISO 9000 group quality system and gauge calibration in the machine shop

Standards

What the group holds, and what it means for your parts

ISO 9000Quality management system of the CPS Manufacturer Group — machining runs under the same procedures, forms and records
TISIThai product standard for the group’s appliances — requires factory and production-system audits
IEC · CEProduct standards for the group’s appliances — tested by external bodies
Label No. 5Thai energy-efficiency label on the group’s products

TISI, IEC, CE and Label No. 5 are product standards for the appliances the group makes, not standards for machined parts. What carries over to your parts is a production and documentation system that has already been audited by outside bodies. Copies of certificates are available with your drawing.

Gauge calibration

Every gauge is registered, calibrated on schedule, and has a history

A measurement is only as reliable as the gauge behind it. This calibration system has been in continuous use since 2014 and covers every gauge in the machine shop.

Registered before use

Every new gauge is function-tested by QC before it is coded, registered and given a calibration interval. Gauges that fail go back to the supplier.

Calibrated on schedule, traceable

Dimensional gauges (calipers, micrometers, dial and height gauges) are calibrated in-house every year against a Mitutoyo gauge block set and thread gauges that are calibrated externally. Electrical test equipment is calibrated on site by an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory.

Clear acceptance criteria, recorded every time

Each calibration records bias and linearity across the range. Calipers and micrometers use a ±0.02 mm acceptance limit. A gauge that fails is repaired and recalibrated, and parts measured with it are re-checked.

Status-tagged, never used past due

Passed gauges carry a status tag with the next calibration date. A gauge past its NEXT CAL date is not used on parts until it is recalibrated.

Parts that need a CMM report are measured by an external laboratory and the report is delivered with the parts. Tell us at quotation.

Part inspection

When parts are checked, and what you get back

Incoming material / castings

Raw stock and customer-supplied castings are checked for machining allowance and condition before they go on the machine.

First-article inspection

The first part of every lot is measured against the full drawing with calibrated gauges; the lot runs only after it passes.

In-process checks

Critical features on the drawing are checked at intervals during the lot and recorded per lot.

Final inspection and report

Checked before packing. A measurement report is attached on request; CMM work comes with the external lab’s report.

Documents available on request

  • Measurement report for the features called out on the drawing
  • CMM report from an external laboratory (state it at quotation)
  • Copy of the group’s ISO 9000 certificate
  • Calibration records for the gauges used on your parts

We do not have a CMM in-house — we say so plainly, because for parts that need one we use a regular external laboratory and include the measurement cost in the quotation from the start.

A PDF is enough — add material, quantity and delivery date. An engineer reviews it before we quote.
